US space policy at a crossroad

NASA currently plans to retire Endeavour and its sister ships Atlantis and Discovery in the fall of this year. Their replacement, the capsule-based Orion ship and its Ares I booster, is not slated to begin operational flights until 2015 at the earliest, and potentially later.

Satellites manufacturers

What Countries are manufacturers of orbiting satellites? In this post I include a graph for the 5 years period 2004-2008. The graph reports the number of successfully launched satellitesper year by the six major Countries (identified by main contractors). The data are from the Aerospace database in this web site.
